Witnesses and residents stated the combating came about between federal authorities forces of President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed, often called Farmajo, and members of the Somali army who’re aligning themselves with opposition leaders.

Earlier Sunday, protesters took to the streets in north Mogadishu condemning the time period extension. Closely armed troopers had been on patrol alongside the protesters as they shouted chants in opposition to Farmajo, witnesses stated.
