Argentina and Stade Francais fly-half Nicolas Sanchez was floored by a “punch” from Montpellier prop Gregory Fichten throughout a High 14 conflict.
Poor self-discipline from the guests finally aided Stade of their 32-10 bonus-point victory on Saturday.
The top of that indiscipline was Fichten being purple carded after what some have reported to be a punch.
Sanchez had been concerned in a sort out with round 5 minutes remaining within the first half of the match when the opposing prop arrived for the clear-out, RugbyDump reports.
TV footage seems to indicate his forearm connecting with Sanchez’s face, clearly taking the half-back without warning as his head rocks again and he falls to the bottom.
The entrance rower was swiftly given his marching orders.
Stade had been main 8-3 on the time of the incident.
They then took full benefit towards 14 males and cruised to a 32-10 victory within the High 14 battle.
